CAIRO-- Kuwait has reiterated its unwavering position towards the fair Palestinian cause in all fields, mainly media, until Palestinians obtain their legitimate rights in establishing their independent state.

Speaking to KUNA in a remark, head of technical office of Minister of Information Osama Al-Buraiki said this came during his speech before the 95th session of the Arab Media Permanent Committee (AMPC) held at the Arab League's H.Q in the Egyptian capital.

Al-Buraiki renewed Kuwait's condemnation of the Israeli violation committed against Palestine's sovereignty and media institutions that run counter to the relevant UN Security Council calling for safeguarding reporters and ensuring their safety.

Kuwait, through an initiative from the TV sector of the Ministry of Information and in cooperation with the Arab States Broadcasting Union, launched an open media day last May on backing the Palestinian cause and people in the face of aggressions against Sheikh Jarrah's neighbor in Jerusalem, Al-Buraiki added.

He thanked those who took part in that day that showed support to the Palestinian cause and worked on enhancing the goal of the Arab media committee.

The Council of Arab Information Ministers is set to hold its 51st meeting on June 16 to discuss backing the Palestinian issue, in addition to involvement of the Arab media in combating terrorism, extremism and other issues concern the future of the Arab media for sustainable development.

Earlier in the day, head of the AMBC Khaled Al-Ghamdi inaugurated the 95th session during which he affirmed the necessity of integrating all efforts to back the media system to help it deliver its message.

Challenges facing the Arab world requires working permanently and sincerely to develop capabilities of the Arab media to meet aspirations of the Arab nation, he noted.
