CYPRIOT Choppers Fighting Meshref Fire: Hassan 15 Oct 2019 Lebanon - Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Raya Hassan, announced Tuesday morning that Cypriot choppers were working on quenching the wildfire in the outskirts of the Chouf town of Meshref. The Minister for Defense Elias Bou Saab asked for Cypriot helicopters. For his part, Director General of the Civil Defense, General Raymond Khattar, indicated that around 103 fires had erupted nationwide.
