STATEMENT TONY BURKE – ALT-RIGHT SUPPORTING FRASER ANNING

Reports that the alt-right have become active in supporting the Fraser Anning campaign gives an indication of just how organised the white supremacist movement can be.

This only increases the need for all members of Parliament who consider themselves mainstream to put the parties that divide the nation last on their how to vote papers. Scott Morrison has still not been able to commit that every member of his government will put One Nation and other divisive parties last.

A government has no chance of providing true leadership unless it can step up to the basic principle of treating all of its citizens equally, fairly and inclusively.

Labor has always committed to putting One Nation and racist candidates last.
