Rahi Salutes President Aoun on Father's Day

17 Jun 2018

Lebanon - Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rahi saluted on Sunday President of the Republic Michel Aoun on the occasion of Father's Day, saying "On Father's Day we salute President of the Republic, who is considered a "civilian father" to all the Lebanese."

Rahi, whose words came during Sunday's mass service in Bkirki today, raised the cry of the citizens, calling on officials to find radical solutions to all standing issues.

"I urge the Lebanese officials to secure jobs for unemployed people, to develop a plan to improve the economic situation, to provide education and health care to all," he said.

The Prelate also appealed to the political class to abide by the national unity, while avoiding sharp conflicts, mutual abuses, and conflict of accusations that destabilize the situation in the country.

Finally, Rahi warned that "the political conflicts shake the national life and impede its growth."
