Lebanon - “The return of Syrian refugees to the safe areas in their country will contribute significantly to restore social stability in Lebanon," Lebanese President Michel Aoun said.

"We are counting on the help of the international community, especially the United States, to achieve this return," Aoun said during a meeting with New York Archbishop Cardinal Timothy Dolan according to the Lebanese Presidency Statement.

"International organizations have realized the desire of displaced Syrians to return to the safe areas where there is no fighting" He added, noting that "there are groups that have started voluntary to return to the Syrian cities, confirming the existence of a stable security situation there."

Aoun stressed the need to continue the work "to bring back to the Arab countries Christians who were forcibly removed from their lands and help them to put an end to their suffering after the wars in these countries."

As for Jerusalem, Aoun considers that "Israel, after declaring its intention to become a Jewish State, is pressing on the other religions to evacuate its holy sites, which would aggravated if the US embassy is moved to Jerusalem – the city that includes the holy sites of all religions.”
