26/04/2017

RIYADH-- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al-Zayani met Wednesday with Australian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Investment Steven Michele Ciobo in Riyadh.

During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing cooperation between the GCC and Australia in the fields of trade, tourism and investment, and finding ways to develop this relation to benefit both sides.

Al-Zayani hailed the GCC-Australian trade boom in the last few years where it reflected the mutual desire to enhance this relation in all aspects.

Meanwhile, the Australian Minister has appreciated all efforts made by General Secretariat of GCC to enhance cooperation, asserting his keenness on doing so to benefit the mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Secretary-General of GCC, Dr. Abdul Aziz Hamad Aluwaisheg, Australian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Neil Hawkins and the delegation accompanying the visiting minister.

Australia and the GCC share a significant economic relationship, encompassing trade and investment across a broad range of goods and services, where the GCC is an important market for exports of live animals and agricultural products such as livestock, meat, dairy products, vegetables, sugar, wheat and grains.
