VISIT COMES IN RESPONSE TO HIS MAJESTY’S INVITATION

Amir of Kuwait arrives tomorrow

MUSCAT: Amir of the State of Kuwait Shaikh Sabah al Ahmed al Jaber al Sabah, will arrive here on Monday for a three-day state visit to the Sultanate. An official welcoming ceremony will be organised for the Emir, according to a statement issued by the Diwan of Royal Court yesterday.

The statement says: “In coronation of the strong fraternal relations binding the Sultanate and the State of Kuwait and in response to a generous invitation from His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, Shaikh Sabah al Ahmed al Jaber al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, will make a three-day visit to the Sultanate starting from Monday (February 20) with an official welcoming ceremony to be organised for the Emir. “The visit is meant to further enhance the already existing fruitful cooperation between the Sultanate and the sisterly State of Kuwait as the leadership of both countries is keen to support common interests in various areas.”

The Emir of Kuwait will be accompanied during the visit by an official high-level delegation comprising  Shaikh Mishal al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah, National Guard Deputy Commander; Shaikh Sabah al Khaled al Hamad al Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Shaikh Ali Jarrah al Sabah, Deputy Minister of the Amiri Diwan, Lt General Shaikh Khaled al Jarrah al Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Anas Khalid Al Saleh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Ahmad Fahad al Fahad, Director of the Office of His Highness Emir of Kuwait; Shaikh Khaled al Abdullah al Sabah al Nasser al Sabah, Head of Amiri Protocol; Khalid Sulaiman Al Jarallah, Deputy Foreign Minister; Yousuf Hamad al Roumi, Head of Media and Cultural Affairs at the Amiri Diwan; Shaikh Fawaz al Saud al Nasser al Saud al Sabah, Head of Political and Economic Affairs at the Amiri Diwan; Ali Fahad al Rashid, Amiri Diwan Adviser; Mazen Issa al Issa, Under-Secretary of the Amiri Diwan for Information Centre Affairs; Ambassador Nasser Haji, Assistant Foreign Minister for GCC Affairs; Fahd Hajar al Mutairi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Sultanate, and a number of officials.
